Band of the Year (2008) }{ \m/ « Thread Started on Sept 15, 2008, 10:33am »
Welcome to the very first Loucifer Speaks Band of The Year contest!
The idea for this is very simple - we're on a quest to find the band that we should name as "Band of the Year" for this website. We need to find the band that has released a killer album/EP, toured relentlessly or just been completely awesome to their fans.
How are we gonna find 'em? Well, that part's easy - You (the fans) just need to nominate them in this thread. To do this you will need to register, but this is just because I'm sick to death with deleting spam from bots and such.
To nominate a band just copy and paste the form below into your post and fill in the relevant information:
Code:
[b]Band Name:[/b] [b]Band Website:[/b] [b]Reason for Nomination:[/b]
You are able to nominate up to 5 different bands
The winner will be announced on the 22nd December 2008. Even though this is mostly for fun, as a prize, the winning band will be interviewed and reviewed on Loucifer Speaks. They will also have their banner (and, of course, link) placed on the Loucifer Speaks home page and in the global headers of this forum. I will also place a link to their site/myspace in my signature on this forum.
NOTE: Bands must be Metal/Rock or fall into one of the many metal/rock sub-genres that are floating around at the moment!
We are mostly looking for unsigned or relatively up-and-coming bands. Iron Maiden and the like get enough recognition anyway!
On Monday I started upon my quest for a band to be named Loucifer Speaks' Band of the Year 08. It's not exactly an imaginative title, but it gets the job done!

Hmm im not sure if these count but i think they should:
Band Name: Devilish Impressions Band Website:http://www.myspace.com/devilishimpressions Reason for Nomination: Well, Lou introduced me to them and straight away i loved their music. They have some great tracks such as Har-Magedon and I am the son of God, and i think that they need more recognition in the music industry. I have seen them in the Terrorizer magazine once but that not enough for a band this good! Normally I don't listen to bands that are unsigned and i dont know why but Devilish Impressions have definatley been the best unsigned band ive liked and listened to most since... ever I nominate Devilish Impressions and my main reason is: To help the band get more recognition for their GREAT music
Basically at DeadandWalking you can upload and share all types of horror content, from fan art, to movie images, to news in the industry, reviews etc...
Upon registering, you gain access the whole site and forum, a profile which is recognised around the whole site, and the ability to take part in polls etc...
If you could check us out i'd really appreciate it!

Band Name: Stuka Squadron Band Website:http://www.myspace.com/stukageschwader666 Reason for Nomination: Well I kind of have to nominate this band because I'm in them. On the other hand if I wasn't I would anyway. As James Duke Fang-Begley (ex Centurion's Ghost) and I have often remarked to one another The Squadron is the best band either of us have ever been in, and is also the band that we wanted to hear when we grew up. Now with a new twin lead guitar line-up the band have everything, style, superb playing, great occult lyrics, compelling choruses and even a crazy-assed stage show. Come on, there is only one choice for Band of the Year. I've never seen another unsigned band that can compete. Check the site if you don't believe me. Thanks. Graham Pyre.

Band Name: Attackhead Band Website: http://www.attackhead.com/ Reason for Nomination: This band was unknown to me until i joined LouciferSpeaks. They have an 'old school' feel to there heavy metal music which is what i love about them. It's just old fashioned head banging at it's best. They are probably the best heavy metal band i have heard since the 80s.

Band Name: Nephwrack Band website:http://www.nephwrack.com/ Reason for Nomination: First heard this band on the Louciferspeaks cd that Lou put together. The track 'Cold Skin' just grabbed me. I loved the heavy vocals combined with the more melodic style. They have recently brought on board a new singer, Dilian who has an amazing vocal range. Their album 'The Once And Future King' is a really good strong album with tracks such as 'Blacks The Sky' which is awesome and 'Leviatian Rises' which is and accoustic song but with such strong lyrics. Heavy rock/prog metal not sure what label it would fall under but for me they are a great band who should have a long future in music if this album is anything to go by.

Band Name: Iron Maiden Band Website:http://ironmaiden.com/ Reason for Nomination: Go figure, not only have they released lots and lots of albums, they toured heaps, when they are on stage they are the best with their fans, and their music is almost second to none. They revolutionized metal as we know it. Not only with dual guitars but with the style and sound
